Meal time often feel exhausting. I have to think of ANOTHER meal for my family AGAIN. For the 365th day in a row.
I felt like I was spinning my wheels and that we were eating the same things over and over again.
A friend introduced me to Epicure when I was pregnant, and I mostly watched for a while. And then I tried it, and I got hooked.
I have been using Epicure a TON in my kitchen lately and sharing some of my journey with it on social media. I was first introduced to it when I was super pregnant and exhausted from cooking. That season changed into full time student and mom of a toddler who could not possibly think of another meal to make. I was so burnt out from trying to come up with meals that sounded good and that were realistic for my busy weeks (because everything I found on Pinterest at the time was 17 ingredients and 40 minutes of prep time).
What is Epicure?!
Epicure is a meal solution direct sales company, based in Canada but moving into the US, that focuses on better ingredients and easy meal options for busy families! Most people are a little confused because it is NOT a meal kit company. You don’t get the ingredients sent to your door. It is basically the sauces or seasonings. I always compare it to a combination of Pampered Chef and Tastefully Simple.
However, this is one of the things that I absolutely love about it actually. There are no meal kits going bad in your fridge if plans change and you don’t get to it. You can plan to add a few Epicure Meals into your weekly meal plan at a time.
I feel like most of my takeout spending comes from not having a solid plan or having enough time or energy to get things on the table at the end of the day. That’s why I have partnered with Epicure to have real food real fast. I have been trying their food and have been loving having an easy food planned throughout the week!
There are also great kitchen tools that make cooking SO easy. I put my Multipurpose Steamer on my top list of kitchen things that save me money!
Why do I love it?
1) Save me money on groceries
Saving money is my number one goal with groceries. I have been using Epicure for the last year or so. It has helped lower my grocery by making more meals “from scratch” rather than buying boxed or frozen meals. I feel more confident with my ability to throw together a meal because it (on average) takes about 22 minutes to make the meals!
I am always a huge fan of doing a good pantry challenge and I am still able to do this with Epicure. I start looking through my kitchen and meals to see what I have on hand and what I actually need to be able to make the meals. If you need some other grocery saving tips, I have a whole blog post with 25 Food Saving Tips!
2) SO easy to come up with meals
The possibilities are endless with these meals. Each packet has directions and suggestions of how to make them according to the intended use, but the website has TONS of recipes for each meal as well! I have tried most of the meals as directed, but then trying them in other recipes keeps the ideas flowing and the meal plan from getting boring!
I love scrolling through the recipes on there even to get inspiration for other things that I could make! I am still able to use my Marker Board meal planning process with the Epicure meals too, so it allows me to use up what I already have on hand!
3) Better ingredients
I LOVE their “Never Ever List.” Epicure has really given me the convenience of easy store meals, without a lot of the junk that can be in some of them (without being WAY expensive). No Red food dye, No gluten, No peanuts. There is so much pressure to eliminate some of these things (or at least lower them) and I love that Epicure gives me options that are just as easy as reaching for the store brand of something!
4) SO much control over family specific dietary needs/preferences
The biggest reason getting your own groceries is actually great for this is because you are in control. If you want a protein pasta instead of regular, you do it. Family doesn’t like mushrooms, just don’t get them! If your family does have a food allergy, it is so easy to keep it allergy friendly in your house. It is so easy to customize to what YOU want it to be.
I love that Epicure is great that if you don’t enjoy cooking, it takes a ton of pressure off of you. But if you enjoy cooking, there is tons of room for customizing, adding, and making your own thing with the base products!
5) Cooking tools
I also absolutely love my steamer for quick and easy one pot meals! This steamer is a food safe silicone that makes quick meals in the microwave so easy. Throw it together, pop it in and have dinner on the table while you are doing other things! It is so easy to clean and dishwasher safe. My rule in my house is “If it doesn’t go in the dishwasher, it doesn’t go in my house!” I am a busy working single mom and I don’t have time to hand wash a bunch of tools!
6) Incredibly fast to make!
Epicure’s average meal cook time is 22 minutes, which is just one more thing to love for me! It is so easy for me to start dinner, finish a few other tasks, and then finish up dinner after we get home from daycare! There are also recipes for the crockpot, instant and air fryer so it makes it easy to have different alternatives! From raw to table in 22 minutes is incredible!
Where do I start?!
The biggest thing I recommend for people on their first order is to get one of the collections and try a few things. The 3 Weeks of Easy meals is a perfect start because it is 12-14 different meals instead of duplicates of things. This is the perfect way to try a handful of things and decide what you love for your family!
Right now, when you place your first order, I have a code for 15% off! Use EPIC15 at checkout 15% off when you sign up as a new customer!
